30 second interview with Todd McQuilkin, CEO, Air-IT
Todd McQuilkin is CEO of Air-IT Ltd an award-winning UK MSP that was one of the early adaptors of PSA and FFA for IT & Communication services.

1. What was your first ever job?
I worked as an Instrument Technician for a Medical device company in Nottingham.
2. Why did you get into the channel world?
When we sold our family business I was asked to head the project for outsourcing the IT department. It was from this project that I saw the opportunity to offer one fixed price for IT - that was 13 years ago - Air-IT was born and we were early adopters of fixed free agreements, MRR and Managed Services for IT.
3. What does your current role entail?
As CEO of Air-IT, my role covers strategy, BI analysis and industry thought leadership. Outside of my CEO role I have a passion for Service Delivery and developing customer experience strategies for UK MSPS. I deliver these key pieces through my consultancy practice Air-MSP. I have worked with over 35 MSPs throughout the UK & Ireland helping them evolve into true MSPs.
4. What have been the most significant challenges for the channel in recent years?
The saturation of the market by technology companies claiming to be Manged Service Providers and the commoditisation of the lower end of the market.
5. What can our delegates expect from your presentation/panel?
The evolution of MSPs in the UK - a 13 year journey from break fix reactive services to lean, agile mature Managed service providers - MSPs are becoming clones, I will share my thoughts on how MSPs have to evolve if they are to stand out in a crowded market.
